Gold Strike started operation almost 30 years ago – in 1994 – as the tallest building in Mississippi with its 32 stories and was taken over by MGM Resorts in 2005. ![]() The newly-announced deal has still not been completed as it is subject to customary adjustments. ![]() Under the provisions of the agreement, CNE, which currently operates as a daughter company of the American conglomerate holding operator Cherokee Nation Businesses, is set to take over the casino resort after making a cash payment of $450 million. On June 9th, MGM Resorts revealed that it had managed to reach an acquisition deal over the ownership of Gold Strike Tunika with CNE (Cherokee Nation Entertainment Gaming Holdings LLC). The Tunica, Mississippi-based Gold Strike Casino will no longer be operating under the management of the US global hospitality and entertainment company MGM Resorts International.
